The First Two Weeks
The buyer re-runs the numbers on systems they now control and learns the daily rhythm of the store. Questions spike here, which is exactly what the transition support you agreed is for. Inside the escrow inspection window, the provider's process governs any dispute; after it, the purchase agreement does.
The Transition, Then the Exit
Good transition support is scoped in writing: hours, channels, and an end date, usually 30 to 90 days. You introduce suppliers, hand over the processes only you knew, and step back on schedule. You do not run the store, and you did not promise its future performance - only that what you sold was what you said it was.
When Something Goes Wrong
If the buyer finds a gap between the claimed numbers and reality, the sequence matters: inspection window first, then the agreement's remedies, then whatever holdback was reserved.
