How Much Does It Cost to Buy a Shopify Store?
Written by Christopher Krassnig - Founder - Kairos Exchange and ZenoX Media. Last reviewed 19 July 2026.
Buying an established Shopify store costs a multiple of its annual profit: Kairos prices verified stores between 2.2x and 3.2x seller discretionary earnings. That is the difference from starting a store, where you pay a monthly subscription: here you buy proven profit, priced as a multiple of it. Beyond the price, budget for due diligence, escrow fees, and working capital.

If You Searched This and Got Subscription Prices
Most results for this question quote Shopify's software plans, which is the cost of running a store, not buying one. An established store with real revenue is a business acquisition: the seller is paid for the profit stream, the brand, and the customer base, and the software subscription transfers to you as a running cost afterward.
What the Multiple Means in Money
Multiply the store's annual profit after owner costs by the multiple for its niche and quality. A store keeping 40,000 euros a year prices in six figures at the verified band; a store keeping 5,000 euros prices in four to five. The calculator on this site runs the exact arithmetic for any profit level, free.
The Costs Beyond the Price
Plan for buyer-side due diligence if the listing is not already verified, the escrow fee on the transaction, professional help in proportion to deal size, and working capital: inventory, ad spend, and the cash gap while payment processing re-anchors to you. Underfunding the first ninety days is the most common buyer self-inflicted wound.

Where the band comes from: Empire Flippers publishes 30 to 50 times average monthly net profit for an ecommerce business, which is 2.5x to 4.2x a year, and FE International publishes 2.0x to 4.0x SDE for smaller owner-operated brands. The Kairos model prices in 2.2x to 3.2x, inside both, wide enough to span every niche it covers. It is not a record of Kairos sales - the marketplace has not opened yet.
