What Multiple Do Shopify Stores Sell For?

Written by Christopher Krassnig - Founder - Kairos Exchange and ZenoX Media. Last reviewed 17 July 2026.

Kairos prices verified Shopify stores at roughly 2.2x to 3.2x annual seller discretionary earnings, with strong brands reaching toward 4x. Where a store lands inside that band depends on niche, growth trend, traffic mix, and age: a growing store with organic traffic prices above its niche base, while a declining store dependent on paid traffic prices below it.

What Moves the Multiple

Growth adds the most: a store trending up commands a premium, one trending down takes the biggest haircut. Organic traffic beats paid dependence, because the buyer inherits the audience instead of the ad bill. Age past three years adds trust; under a year subtracts it. Niche sets the starting point, with fashion and beauty at the higher end of the band.

Why Verified Stores Price Higher

A multiple is a price on certainty. Numbers a buyer can check against real order data support the top of the range; numbers backed by screenshots invite discounts, or no offer at all. The same store earns a better multiple once its revenue is provable.

Estimate Your Own

The Kairos valuation calculator applies these exact adjustments to your niche, growth, traffic mix, and age, and returns a range in about a minute. It is free, and it tells you what it cannot know: a real valuation reads your actual books, not six inputs.

Where the band comes from: Empire Flippers publishes 30 to 50 times average monthly net profit for an ecommerce business, which is 2.5x to 4.2x a year, and FE International publishes 2.0x to 4.0x SDE for smaller owner-operated brands. The Kairos model prices in 2.2x to 3.2x, inside both, wide enough to span every niche it covers. It is not a record of Kairos sales - the marketplace has not opened yet.
