Churn Rate is the share of customers or subscribers who cancel or stop buying within a set period, usually a month. A rate of five percent means five of every hundred active customers leave that month. Average customer life runs one divided by the rate. A rising customer count sitting on a rising churn rate is worth less than the headline number suggests.

What Kairos Verifies About Churn

Kairos's Shopify connector reads a store's own order data and reports revenue, order count, and refunds every month, the same figures behind every listing's verified band. It does not read a subscription platform, so it never calculates, tracks, or verifies a churn rate, a cancellation count, or cohort retention. A seller running a subscription business has to pull the churn and cohort exports from the billing platform separately and reconcile them against the verified order totals by hand, because that history sits outside the store's own order ledger.
